I mean last year I even applied to like 5 stores to get a job, and didnt get accepted. Now I have no work experience, and I'm really scared it will hurt me a lot. Especially because I'm from a high income family. What do you think?

Did you work during the summer at all?

No :(
Before the age of 16, i was too young to work, and I only turned 16 this March!! In new jersey you can't get a job unless you're 16.

Before that, I did a summer program in Columbia, and this summer I took an online course and was a camp counselor. Plus I can't drive, so I have NO way of getting to a store to work. I mean, I tried...but It's just so impossible.

What grade are you in? If you still have some time left, I think it won't matter too much as long as you do something. I know I have no time to work during the school year so I only work in the summer, and that wasn't really typical; I was interning in a lab.

So anywho, I don't think it makes too much of a difference.

Actually I'm in 12th grade, applying to colleges right now. I mean the thing is I'm a year younger than everyone in my grade and I haven't been old enough to work/drive so it's really hard to get out there and get a job. I have no means of transportation, and I have nobody to ask to drive me all the time. It really sucks. I mean I've done other extracurriculars, but I just don't know if not having a job is really going to hurt.

Working as a camp counselor should be considered as work.

It was volunteer work, as I didn't get paid. Wouldn't it be only considered work if I got money?

Nope. That's still work

Really? wow cool! Thanks!
