Overtime!!! I’m sure you’re all watching though lol

NCAA tourney hopes dashed for Northwestern

Of course I knew this 4 days ago… at 1:16pm to be exact (post #2)

^Don’t you have anything better to do?

it stings. I know. But we got a bye next game either way.

@ giterdone - seriously?

giterdone,

I wonder what your UMich-bound D thinks when she sees your immature act on this board.

cough inferiority complex cough

Giterdone – after your D was accepted to Mich and rejected to ND, you wrote this: “she has been most enthusiastic about NU, that being her clear #1”

And then last night you wrote: “D’s options are (so far); St. Thomas on near full ride, net cost to us < 5k. Drake at a net cost to us of around 13k. UMich at 35k. Waiting on NU.”

Are you kidding me - please have your daughter pull her app to NU because it is clear you do not want your daughter to attend here.

We’ll see, in a couple weeks. Being a realist on “big dance” chances doesn’t make me a hater. get a grip.

You haven’t posted here for a while and then you rubbed it in right after the game. It just reflects poorly on your character, IMO.

Character revealing expectations from a chat board poster? really?

I had nothing to post about… big deal? ever been chided before? or talked smack?

Man, I hope this isn’t an indication of how tightly wrapped the typical NU student is.

Well, “listen” to your tone. I can only imagine the level of drama you can bring in real life.

tell me how to “listen” to chat board writing? the tone you’re adding to my posts comes from your own head.

This isn’t a novel, nor is it a substitute for verbal communication - there is no “tone” in texting or email other than what the reader injects on their own

Not to be too psycho-babble, but I think part of the issue is that “talking smack” is part of the sports culture that can be uncomfortable to those of us not immersed in it. The arts culture, for example, tends to focus on being supportive so people feel comfortable taking creative risks.

Also, since most NU students have met with a great deal of personal success in life, and many have enjoyed advantages in life, they may tend to talk smack even less than most people.

Just a thought.

@giterdone - I know this waiting phase is stressful. I’m glad your D already has several great choices and still have my fingers crossed that NU is added to her list of options!

@Mom - you hit it on the head. This site is a pressure release valve.

Thanks.

^What pressure? Oh, the real truth is you want NU badly, and more than UMich, like most people when given the choice. We are crossing our fingers for you. :)

Arizona got in with 18 wins a few years ago. The following year, UF was left out with 23 wins. You can never predict these things.

Except Virginia Tech. They’re always left out.

See Sam! you get “smack talk” - that’s a good one.

I think, when all was on the line in that game, NU might have wanted just one of those so-called sub-standard Duke basketball players.
