Will not doing an interview badly hurt your chances

I would say I am about your average WFU applicant. My SAT is 1370, and I remember correctly, WFU site said the average SAT was 1316 so, again, I'm about average. I have never done a interview with WFU though. I live in CT so I cannot do a face-to-face nor do I have the equipment for that scipe. I know WFU has that virtual interview but it is December 30th. Furthermore, WFU would be my first interview and that's never a good thing. So will not having an interview blow my chances at Wake?

You can check out some of my posts on other Wake threads on interviews. I cannot say my d had a good experience at all there with an interview.
To put it in perspective, she had such a fantastic interview at Wash U the month before that the regional admissions officer called her school the next day to find out more about my daughter and to compliment the college counselor on how well she did.
So the bad time she had at Wake was NOT because she can't do well in interviews!
Yet other people had a great one. It probably is a matter of bad or good luck on who interrogates...I mean interviews you.

Don't be afraid to interview!! Wake wants to know that people are truely interested in attending their school and not just adding them on as an extra "match" or "safety". However, if you truely think you cannot coordinate it, and really want to go to Wake, call the admissions people - they were in the office yesterday, and ask your ?, explain your situation, they may have a solution.

Unless you do something way out of the ordinary to project a negative impression, the interview is, at worst, a null factor. Chances are, you'll do fine and your interviewer will write a positive report about you.
