Will not taking AP Calc hurt my chances

Hi guys! I have a big problem, i wont be able to take AP Calc my senior year. It's not that im bad in math, i usually score in the high 700s in the math sections of the practice SATs. I wont be able to take it because i came here in 7th grade and i was put in regular math because i didn't speak english, so i couldn't take algebra I in 8th grade.I took Algebra I in 9th grade, Geometry in 10th grade, i am taking algebra II this year, and next year i will be taking precalc. Will the fact that i wont take AP Calc hurt my chances of admission at the ivies?
Thanx
Also because i havent taken precalc yet, i wont take IIC as a subject test. i'll take bio, french, and american. will they also see that in a bad way?

take precalc at community college and then do calc senior year... its not a requirement to enter ivies... you can explain why you didnt take it on the app if u want. i dont know if it will hurt

i took algebra 1 in 9th grade and now i have AP Calc.

yeah I took algebra 1 in freshmen year too. I took precalc and algebra II in the same year to get into AP Calc.

geez.. i took algebra 1 in 7th grade.. haha geometry in 8th, alg 2 w/ trig in 9th, precalc 10th, calc ab and calc bc 11th... no math senior year

You should try to find a way to exempt or skip trigonometry (ie. precalculus).

Then, you can take AP Calculus.

do precal over the summer. i don't have a precal grade but i'm taking calc BC

yeah not taking calc is not exactly going to help...

i suggest studying it during the summer or something, like imiracle911 said

Best would be to take precalc at a community college. It is not a hard course but it is crucial. Skipping it would be a huge mistake.

As to the original question asked, the fact that you do not take AP Calc, but still have 4 years of high school math, is not going to be a problem. Large numbers of students that get into college, including your elites never take AP Calc. Even engineering schools admit large numbers without it.

A different issue is SAT Math IIC. I assume you are currently a junior and thus part of college entry class of 2006. Depending on where you intend to apply, you might have to take a math SAT and possibly the IIC; you need to check SAT II requirements of each college. One example: all the UCs will require the Math IIC for 2006 applicants.

Thanks for your advice guys. i guess i'll try to take it over the summer at the community school.
