Will not taking math in 12th lower my chances? I'm taking AP Calculus BC 11th already

Hello, will not doing math in 12th grade lower my chances of getting into Ivy colleges? My transcript is already enough to easily get into UC, so I’m aiming for Ivy. I have 2 options for 12th, take Multivariable calculus at some college online or in-person, or nothing? The thought of taking AP Stats gives me a headache but I like Multivariable Calclulus, I think. I’m not sure if I have room for Multivariable Calculus even though I don’t think it will take more than 1 hour per day or I can drop some other courses. Will not taking math lower my chances in 12th grade? I just want to know. There’s some chance I might just take it anyway though.

Drop a few languages (it hurts, I know) and take a math. And try to stay humble, the UCs are hard to get into.

If you can, try to take Calculus III/Multivariable Calc at a local CC or online. If you don’t like the thought of doing even more calculus, then you can try AP Statistics or AP Comp Sci A. As you said, “The thought of taking AP Stats gives a me a headache”, you can do AP Comp Sci.

-A lot of schools require 4 years of math and this might hurt your chances when applying for the Ivy Leagues.

Hope this helps and good luck!

You’re in 9th grade. You don’t have a transcript yet, just an unrealistic plan. You don’t know how your transcript will look in a few years. You don’t need to decide now exactly which math class to take in 12th grade. I’d start looking at your plan for 10th grade rather than worrying about stats vs. multivariable in 12th. That is the least of the problems here. Do you have any kind of academic adviser?
