Will NYU rescind my admission? NO and here's why

Okay, I'm writing this now because I know five dozen people will make threads like this.

NYU will not rescind your admissions over a D.
They will not rescind your admission over you skipping gym class.

Basically, NYU will not forcibly take away your spot unless you do something very, very bad. Such as fail ALL of your classes, or get arrested, or get caught cheating on an AP test, or get drunk and written up at prom or even fail to graduate.

NYU is not LOOKING for reasons to kick you out. They want you and (I'll be candid) they want your money.

PLEASE do not take this post as a message to go nuts and fully embrace senioritis. If you get that message from this post, you fail.

The easiest solution is to NOT FAIL OR GET Fs in your classes. One D or even one F will not matter, if your whole grade point average is still above a 2.0.

When I transferred, I actually FAILED calculus after I was accepted at NYU, and they didn't do anything.

Let's all put our big girl and big boy pants on and go to class at least part of the time.
Part of growing up is doing the things you don't want to do.

So I know you FEEL like going to class is pointless now, but seriously, please don't be THAT kid that gets kicked out of NYU after failing every single class their senior year.

And please, if you make a post about "omg I got a C, will I be rescinded?", please go outside and get some sunshine. You're already a Bobcat and an NYUer, just try to keep it together for another two months and then you'll be moving in to Weinstein before you know it.

Thanks for posting this

Yeah, thanks a lot for the post.

Trying to comfort the CC community is a lost cause. You’re a very kind soul to even try.

But that’s why I wrote the post! So I just write it once and keep referring to it. Heh.

THANK YOU.
I’m failing AP English right now…not really my fault. It’s based one ridiculous quiz (on in-class material) and like 90% of the class is failing too. I figured they’re know something is up since I’m doing great in every other class. Haha

lolcats! (10 char)

haha I have two C’s on my report card lol

Thanks for the reassurance anyway!

^ NuclearPakistan1, I read your post in the other thread. I have the same exact grades as you, lol.

But yea, I do feel a litlte better… wish I could go outside & get some sunshine if it wasn’t pouring rain… :P

Wait NuclearPakistan your CC ban ended? Nice. :)

^ Yeah RPI sucks. You don’t need to ■■■■■ to communicate that. The people on that board are sour as it is.

@NuclearPakistan1
What happened on the RPI thread?

Ahhhhh thankkkk godddddddd!!!

Ohbio - don’t ask. ;)

This thread makes me feel better about my C in Calc. Although I’m still hella paranoid.

So, uh, I failed my presentations class final with a 43. Not really my fault, I was paired with one other senior and two sophomores. The sophomores were in charge of handing in the final project ad senior left, and based on my grade I’m assuming they didn’t. Since I still passed the class with an 87 and am still on the honor roll, I should be alright, right? I mean, I graduated already. Lol

Just to be on the safe side, would this concept also imply to other universities such as Boston University, Northeastern , etc?

Check with their respective boards, you only have to worry about NYU if you got a scholarship from them that wouldn’t be considered “meager”

Out of curiousity, is this the same case for stern as well?
