Will one bad grade ruin my chances?

I just finished my junior year of high school with A's and B's in all of my classes except pre-calculus which I got a D+ in the final quarter. The grade dropped my GPA to a 4.2. Will this one bad grade ruin my chances of getting into college? I've taken the SATs once and scored 690 on reading, 580 on writing, and 490 on math but I plan on taking them again in the fall. If I do really well on the math section of the SATs will colleges overlook the grade?

I would be surprised if a CC took you in, try a vocational school

To answer you question, no, youre fine

HAHA at the post above me.

The problem is that the worst grade you have was in your most recent term so it indicates a downward trend. Just do well in your senior year and I’m sure you’ll be fine!

I feel your pain though. I got an F first semester freshman year in Alg. 2 (grrr math) and it has haunted me since…
