Will one low subject test hurt me?

So I want to apply to Georgetown SFS, which recommends 3 Subject Test scores. I took Math II, Chem, and USH.

I got 800s on math and chem, but only 750 on USH.

I’m worried that since SFS is very social sciences focused, they will take my low USH score more seriously than my high math and science scores.

Should I retake USH? Or is 750 good enough?

bump. need to know whether or not to sign up for more sats

I Think that 750 is good considering that your others were 800’s. Also did you take APUSH? or do well in social sciences classes in school?

A 750 isn’t low…

“Oh my God! I ONLY got 750 on USH this time! It’s TOOOO LOOOW!! I must retake it for a 900!!”

Just joking… no offence. But a 750 isn’t bad AT ALL.

I got 690 on literature this time, and I don’t fret about that. Don’t understand why you should fret about that 750.

well 750 is only 83rd percentile

You do realize basically only high performing students take SAT subject tests to begin with? I’m not sure if you need reassurance, or if you’re just trying to humble-brag but your score is your score, and it’s a good one. If it’s not good enough for you then retake…but this is an obvious (and slightly annoying) overreaction.

Check the Georgetown results threads for the last couple years on this website. Lots of sub-750 acceptances. You’ll even find a surprisingly large amount of sub-700 acceptances, with 800s rejected.

You’re screwed. You actually think colleges will accept a sub-800 subject test?

750 shows proficiency in the subject area and will not radically change your admissions chances compared to an 800

@tscebu

Take a step back and think about it. Would you really think a kid that got a 750 instead of an 800 on their test to be less qualified for admission to their school? That’s a mere question or two different.

If so, then I wouldn’t want to attend.
