<p>My son has similar interests to yours and hasn’t had any problem find like-minded kids to hang out with. A lot of his friends (IST and engineering majors) are active in the Urban Gaming Club. There is also a Gaming Club that hosts role playing games and a Game Design Club. Often on weekends some one organizes a LAN party. He had football tickets freshman year, went to one game and that was enough. He and many of his friends drink, but that is not the main focus of their weekend activities (and they are mostly legal at this point).
