will Pitt superscore 2 ACT scores

My daughter is a high school junior, dying to go to Pitt. She has taken 2 ACT exams, both composites are 27, however, if they are superscored they go to 29. Does Pitt superscore 2 AcT exams? Also, on the 2nd test, there is one section that is very low with two very high subsections. The first test is a more even mix, resulting in the 27. Does it make more sense to send both, showing the extremely high 2 subsections with the one very low subsection? I wasn't sure if the school only superscores the SAT- her gpa is 3.9 Any advice would help!

Send everything! My D took the ACTs twice and the SATs twice. Her composite scores were exactly the same, but the subscores varied. I was told by the assistant director of admissions that they will do everything possible so that you achieve the highest score possible. They will even take ACT scores, convert them to SAT scores and combine them as such, if that is more beneficial.

Pitt was my D’s one and only choice (nursing school). I can’t say this enough…apply early! Pitt’s admission is on a rolling basis, so the earlier the better. She applied the end of July and was notified in mid Oct that she was accepted.

Make sure you check for Pitt’s average SAT and ACT scores and have your child shoot to obtain better than the average.

Good luck!

Thank you- same here- she will be devastated if she doesn’t get in. I am sending 2 act scores, no sat. I spoke with a counselor today and they said the same as you- they will use the highest- I was told they will only use the english and math parts of the act and convert them to sat- not the reading and science. In other words, sounds like only the english and math parts of the act are important! I hope so, we will apply super early!

What is her intended major? Are you in state or out of state?

Keep the questions coming! These forums have been a wealth of information for us.

we are out of state- will need to do a kinesioogy (ex science) major then switch to health and rehab sciences- intended goal is doctor of phys. therapy, so the college of arts and sciences is where she starts-
