Will Preview be Required?

Hi,

I am applying to UF and consider myself a strong applicant and am hoping to be accepted. If I am, it will be my number one choice. Anyway, I just realized that during the summer of 2008 I will have to move to a different city to work for 10 weeks and I may be only to come back to florida only once for like, 2 days.

So my question is... Once you get your acceptance letter.. You have to go to preview, right? So you have to actually GO to the university. Is this absolutely necessary to get classes? Can you not just mail in all the stuff and only have to be AT the university on the first day of classes? Is there anything else besides preview that you have to show up for? How many times between the acceptance letter and the first day of classes will I have to be AT the university to do acceptance/enrollment stuff? (as in, absolutely required to get classes and everything). If so, can you not do all that stuff a few days before classes start? Does anyone know what day classes will start in 2008?

Preview is mandatory. "Is orientation mandatory? Yes, all new students are required to attend orientation (i.e. Preview or Transfer Preview). During orientation, students will meet with an academic advisor, have the opportunity to register for classes, and learn how to be a successful global Gator in and out of the classroom."
If you are starting classes in the fall of 2008 (classes will start August 25) then you can choose preview dates (the two day sessions) from the beginning of June to just a few days before classes start. This past year fall classes started on August 23 and the last available preview date was Aug. 20-21.

Yeah, just go really early (in May) or go late as was stated above.
