Hi,
Will writing a book and publishing it help in the admissions process? What do you think? thanks!

uhh...yeah.

just make sure you don't plagarize like that Harvard girl

are you kidding me?

please quit life.

Seriously though.
If you're going to publish a book, do it because you like writing or have something that you really need/want to say.

Not so that you can get into college. That's pretty pathetic.

i agree. doing something just for the sole purpose of being admitted to a school is pretty pathetic.

amen

10 char

ditto...applying is meant for you to show colleges who you are, not who they want you to be...if you're gonna juss do things to get in, might as well juss sleep with the admissions director...it'd be faster! =D

This is going to depend on how you plan to publish it. If you are paying for publication, using a 'vanity press' or the company, PublishAmerica. It will not help you that it has been published, it will be regarded in exactly the same way as a book that has been simply written.

If however, someone is BUYING your book from you, it will help. Especially if its one of the major houses ie: Harper Collins, S&S, Random House, Penguin Group.

lmao ditto.
if you're going to try to publish for admission, scram.
i mean you can try but you'll never get a good one;
you'll always be in a rush to do your best & your best will be ripping off some famous author.

go get a hobby.
