Hey guys. So I got admitted into Riverside in CHASS for Music Major.
I got in, I did my SIR and I accepted the aid package.

Only thing holding me back from doing the housing contract/payment is that I have a 2.75 GPA (Sophomore & Junior) and I got a D last semester for Math Analysis. I didn't take the class 2nd semester though. I also took this class my sophomore year and got D & F. BUT, I did my 3 years requirements already. I got a B in Alg. 1 B in Geo, and A in Alg. 2.

I got a D in english 3 my soph. year but I am making it up.

Im Senior Class President at my school, do you know if they would put this into consideration? Our leadership adviser retired and our senior class adviser got cancer and has passed so it was kind of hard for me to juggle these things. Im also Yearbook Editor in Chief, on the Debate Team, and I am Photography editor in chief for the school newspaper.

I mean I did apply to a non-impacted major so would the chances not be in my favor and will they rescind me? I already warned them through email 3 times (no reply) and called my adviser/counselro 8 times but no response.

I also got a D in AP Stats my Junior year 1st sem and then a B 2nd sem. My Language requirements, I took a college french course because it apparently makes up for the two year requirement, just making sure that’s true! Thanks!

Oh lol you got into UCR with a 2.75 GPA thats sad. President of you class with a 2.75? Lol… im really laughing really hard. Throughout the years of highschool all i have seen are people with 4.8+ GPA being president. I personally think you will be fine since you made up your classes. Frankly that spot should be offered to a more qualified person! For example me: 3.6 GPA
SAT: 1400
ACT:27
Community Service: 892 Hours
EC: President of many clubs!
Music Director/ Drum Major of my band for 2 years
Multiple work experiance!
Never got a Ds or Cs in my life.
Very impressive essay.
Played small roles in many TV shows and movies!
Four languages!
Study Abroad for 2 years in Singapore.
Passed 4 AP test with a 3 or better.
Took all required courses for 4 years. (Science, math, english, SS, and language and Performing Arts!)
I seriously look like a much better applicant than most people but still got:
Waitlisted for an Anthropology Major!
I just dont understand how this system work. Its very very confusing!

I’m in the same boat, with you. The admissions process at UCR and most likely many other UCs are too puzzling to fathom, I am extremely angered by this.

A GPA doesn’t define my capability. I got an 8% in an AP Class, I got a 5 on the AP Exam. I gave up everything in my classes to devote my time on Debate. I get 1st place speaker or 2nd place in almost every debate tournament in my league. I personally think my Personal Statement was part of the reason why I got in. The purpose of this post was to seek guidance and help, you don’t have to bring in your pretentious condescending ass in here preaching like your some genius.

You obviously think that a number accumulated through a span of 4 years determines how “intellectual” you are. People with mentality like you are seriously *ed over. Read up on some ethics and Nietzche ***.

All I can say is keep trying to get a hold of your advisor. If you never get in touch with him/her, admissions will see your final transcript and rescind you. Who is your advisor by the way?

“I got an 8% in an AP Class, I got a 5 on the AP Exam. I gave up everything in my classes to devote my time on Debate.”
Just telling you now: This won’t fly in college. If you get to come here, please do not just focus on just one thing and ignore whatever else is also important.

I screwed my grades because of debate, high five! If you’re going to Riverside, do you want to do debate with me? I’m looking to start a team and I need somebody willing to participate.

And to also answer your question, I don’t believe UC Riverside’s yield rate is high, so that means they have a high incentive to keep student’s in.

I’m just trying to state that D’s won’t slide in college no matter your circumstances. Sure, he might have debate team, but I know many students who have more hectic lives them him and still earn A’s.

But, whatever congratulations on getting accepted @karlkevin.
