Will SAT score taken two years back (november, 2011) work for an applicant?

I am thinking of applying this fall. I took SAT in my senior high school year. currently I am studying at a local university (international-freshman year, finished 1st semester) and I am thinking of applying as a freshman instead of transfer to boost my chances of admission. There are many reasons for applying. Will my SAT score taken in my senior high school year work? I graduated in June, 2012. My SAT score is 1970. Should I take it again this January? Will that score be accepted at most universities? I do not have good university GPA. should I send those scores?
Thanks in advance.

SAT scores are valid for use as long as they were taken after eighth grade and within the last 5 years before the time you apply for admission, So your score can be used.

A different issue is whether you can even apply as a freshman. That you have already finished a semester of college means for majority of colleges that you cannot apply as a freshman but must instead apply as a transfer college student. To determine whether you can apply as a freshman or instead must apply as a transfer, you need to check the rules – which vary among colleges in how many college hours are allowed before you are considered a transfer – for the particular colleges you may be interested in, and such information is usually provided on the colleges’ websites.

As to whether 1970 is a good score and whether you should retake depends on the colleges to which you might apply. For many it is a fine score. For high ranked colleges it is too low.

As to providing university grades, you will find that colleges generally require you to provide all grades, from high school or for any courses taken at a college, as part of the application process.
