<p>I am currently debating on where I should transfer to in the fall and one school offered me an $8,000 transfer scholarship, while the other school did not offer me any money. I really want to attend the other school, but I was wondering if anybody has ever heard of a school matching another school's offer for students. </p>

<p>FA, yes, if it is a peer school. Merit aid is a different matter, and it's pretty rare that colleges give transfer merit awards, so I'm afraid I don't have any direct experience or knowledge about this situation. </p>
<p>However, what I always say is that it never hurts to ask. Call up the school, tell them about the award and that you would really prefer to attend their school, and ask if they could match it in order for you to be able to attend. All they can do is say no and you're no worse off than you are now. </p>
