Will score choice hurt me?

I took the SAT three times. (Yes, I realize that 3 times may be one time too many to some, but I can't change this fact.) The second time I took the SAT, I did worse. I did not improve my score in any category. I would like to disallow NYU from seeing the scores from this sitting but I'm not sure if it will hurt me or not. For reference, I dropped my overall score by 50 points.

Hey, I sent all 4 of my scores to NYU (LOL I took it more than you did so don’t worry). From what I’ve heard NYU takes your highest sections…What’s your highest composite and superscore?

@lyndak, three times is usually the ‘maximum’ colleges want to see, so if you’re happy with the superscore total of your 3 scores, then it’ll be fine.

Don’t worry. Before an admissions counselor even sees it, I think they have a software program that plucks out your top scores and superstores it and prepares a matrix for them with your test scores and GPA, which may also undergo some sort of recalculation based on how they weight things. I doubt they even see the specific subtlest scores from each sitting. Even if they do, it won’t hurt you. They are going to superstore and look at your top subtlest scores. They say they want to see the applicants best profile. You have to trust the process.
