I'm sending in my ACT - 32, so its not required to send my SAT II scores.

I got:

Math II-740
Lit-650

Is it worth sending? Will it help/hurt my application?

Thanks for your help, Happy Holidays!

It might depend on what you’re applying for, but the 740 Math is still pretty good. Lit. is just okay, but it would look better to send two than only one.

lol we have the exact same SAT II scores!
740 Math II, 650 USH.
I submitted mine, but I didn’t take the ACT.
If applying to SEAS or Wharton, 740 will hurt. If not, it will help. 650 will hurt though.

I’m applying to Wharton, so my scores are pretty weak. :/

Actually applying to CAS

You HAVE to send your SAT 2 scores… though Penn does not require an applicant to take subject tests if they take the ACT, Penn requires that applicants send ALL scores from the SAT, ACT and SAT 2s that they have taken.

As to whether or not they will help or hurt you… the 740 is pretty standard and will show that you are a good math student but I don’t think they’ll be blown away… and the 650 is kind of low for Penn but I doubt that it will hurt you too much.

Best of luck!!

False. If you send your SATs then you have to send all your SATs, but you don’t have to send ur acts. Conversely i’d assume the same. Reason I know this is because I only sent my sat stuff and none of my act stuff, but I did have to send a particularly bad math ii sat so you can’t pick and choose individual scores. Either send all your sats or all your acts or both.

funkmu- I am 100% sure that I am correct. You should have sent your ACT score. You were required to. I have spoken with both my regional admissions officer and heard the same through an email with admissions. The question was also asked an info session I went to and we were told to SEND ALL SCORES regardless of what tests we have taken.

The policy is also stated on the Penn website:

“Penn requires that applicants submit all testing results from each administration of the ACT, SAT, and SAT Subject Tests.”

http://www.admissions.upenn.edu/applying/testing.php

*It seems like a lot of people have been confused about Penn’s testing policy this year… I don’t know why though. It is clearly stated on the website and the admissions office is always willing and happy to clarify when any questions arise.

My guidance counselor told me that I had to send either or and so I chose to send all my sats and none of my acts and I was accepted so this is based on personal experience.

will they look at your SATs and your ACTs if you send in both?

I think they look at your highest whatevers.

funkmu- I agree that they will probably mostly consider the highest scores… you should probably clue your GC in to Penn’s policy because your GC will likely inform other students incorrectly.

But I sent in only one ACT score I took.
…how will they know I took it more than once? I was able to send the ACT score just fine by itself and i took it 3 times…
