Will sending the UC app faster increase my chances?

My dad's been bugging me for several days now to send in my UC app as soon as possible. He says they are taken in by tiers and those who submit their application earlier, like the first possible day, will have a better chance than those who send it in later in the month.

Is this true? I want to spend more time revising my personal statements, but he is telling me to just submit it right now, at once, right at this moment or I will die immediately.

Whether you send your app in on Nov. 1st or nov 30th makes no difference. I visited UCLA and UCI and their reps told me this. (applies to all UC’s) And i’m pretty sure they review all the applicants at once in late december, january, and february. My strong advice to you is to revise your essays and spend time on them and submit your app when your ready. Don’t submit it on the 30th though, because a lot of people do that and the whole system overloads. But to sum up, there is no advantage to applying early. You can call one of the UC’s if you concrete proof.
