This may be a dumb question, but I was just curious. I was recently admitted into UCLA, and I'm 95% sure that I'm going there, but I'm unsure if I should SIR right now to find housing as quick as possible. I wanted to see if Berkeley would accept me and I'm wondering if Berkeley would see me SIR-ing to UCLA right now and reject me, if there's ever been a case like this.

No, you’ll be fine. The other UCs won’t even know that you SIR’d to one of their campuses.

Berkeley will still release your decision and won’t change it to reject you because you SIR’d to UCLA(The much better school, by the way. ). If you get rejected, it was because of certain factors in your application causing them to reject you and only those factors.

It kinda sounds like they share the SIR info to me. But you bear all the consequences either way; maybe missing out on the good housing or having Cal change their mind. Do what you think is best.

Berkeley won’t change their offer of admission if you already submit your SIR to UCLA. I’m pretty sure it’s already finalized and we’ll just see in the next few days.

I would wait to hear from Berkeley though before you a send a SIR. It’s the best school

What I don’t understand is why would SIR to UCLA? you have until June 1st to decide… why can’t u wait until friday when Cal releases their decision… plus UCLA housing is hella expensive… you are not going to run out of transfer options…
You should enjoy your time as a free agent… both Cal and UCLA will invite you to their respective yield events and will try to make you go there… its a nice feeling to turn the tables on the UC’s and have them fight to get you.
