Poor Background: under 10K per year

-Cross Country 2 years
-FBLA leader 1 year
-Newspaper Staff 1 year (current)
-Seattle International Film Festival 1 year (current)
-Part-time job freshmen year
-Accumulated about 150 hours of community service
-Biology Recognition Award at school</p>

<p>Tests!
SAT: 1750 (took Nov. so I probably got 1750+)
ACT: 26/ 10 essay (27 superscored, don't think those school will)</p>

<p>I'm looking into Film/Television/Communication/English major. I also wrote good essays.</p>

NYU - Already applied to Tisch, probably not getting in
UW-Madison
University of Missouri - Columbia
University of Illinois - Urbana Champaign</p>

<p>I know these "what are my chances" threads don't mean anything but I just want to know where I fall into within these schools.</p>

<p>How would you afford the OOS tuition at the publics? And NYU is unlikely to give you the aid you need. So even if you get in, I’m not sure your list works if you’re low income.</p>

<p>@2college2college, I’m obviously applying for Financial Aid. Also, I have a lot of scholarship money. It’s not the end of the world just because I don’t have much money. I’m taking my chances and applying to schools to see if I can get in. If i do, and if they have a program that is worth going for, then I will go by all means. Btw, I do have community college as my back-up. Besides, not everyone who goes to NYU is filthy rich; I know many people who with little money who go there…and yes, i know about the debt I would get myself into.</p>
