Will state budget cuts flunk the University of Florida?

From The Miami Herald, a very grim picture for public Higher Education in the state.

http://www.miamiherald.com/news/florida/story/216196.html

Interesting article, however the answer to the thread title is no

well actually, the article seems to say YES.... Did you read it?

Um yes, I did read it, I believe that would explain my saying that the article was "interesting": did you read THAT?

Again, the "interesting" article answers the OP question, YES. Did YOU get THAT??

lol? trot on back to your UM forum

Also, hopefully they will teach you in your $1500 per credit courses that the answer to this question: "Will state budget cuts flunk the University of Florida?" is a guess. The article presented an argument for its guess, but to declare a definite answer for a subjective future question is just stupid. Re-evaluate your logic and stick to UM, you have no business posting here

well, well..I post wherever I want. Just for you, I will post again. I see that someone is trying to do some damage control with another thread...

In fact, I have to tell you that most people that I meet that attend UF is just because they could not afford Miami. It is obvious that this may create a certain resentment.

Then you haven't met most people at UF

Tuition at Harvard and UM are almost the same. Something is not right.

^^^ True, pretty outrageous right?

I wonder why some people find outrageous to spend a lot of money for college, when they are choose to spend almost $40,000 in a high school education!!

At the end, I think it is just a matter of personal preference. Isn't that right vincanity1?

Lmao OOooOO. I'd love to go into a high school debate with you but I doubt it's worth it and I'd rather not insult any one else on this forum who doesn't have the rampant insecurities that you portray on this forum.

For everyone else, I wonder why Moviebuff refuses to answer the question directly and instead redirects it to the cost of a HIGH SCHOOL (A high school that costs less than three others in its immediate area: Ransom, Carrolton, Gulliver)

For you, (everyone else got what i was saying)...you choose to make your parents pay 40,000 for HIGH SCHOOL, when you could get a comparable education at a UF "equivalent" public high school. Your financial analogy is rather hypocritical. Who cares??!!

Carrollton is an all girls school...You could not go there.
Ransom is the best high school in Miami. Very expensive too, like UM..
Gulliver, is just full of rich kids. Not that good of a school anymore.

That has nothing to do with the fact that you keep saying that going to MIAMI is not worth the money, when you happen to go to the MOST EXPENSIVE ALL BOYS SCHOOL IN THE AREA. Well, is THAT worth the money when you have Coral Reef and Palmetto, two top PUBLIC AND CHEAP HIGH SCHOOLS in the country? DO YOU GET IT NOW?

uh oh, speaking in CAPS. Refer to my post in the other thread as an answer to this one

Well, i can see that you are really dodging the question. Then again, I would not expect otherwise. Grow up dude.

moviebuff, do you even go to UM?

^^^Not at all. I ran into this thread on the Latest Posts and I wanted to express my views. I think some people are very inconsistent with their views.

I believe parents just pay that much for high school for different reasons. Some want an advantage when applying to college. Others want smaller classes. Some schools also have environments where struggling students can perform better. Public schools just don't offer that. Heck, look at Cypress Bay!
