Will students be affected?

I noticed this on the UA website:

June 28, 2010 - Please be advised that the current version of Turning Point for PC (clickers) supported by the Faculty Resource Center (FRC) and in use across the campus is NOT compatible with Microsoft Office 2010. At this time, classrooms that have Office 2010 will not be able to use Turning Point for PC. The FRC team is working on this issue with the vendor and exploring other possible solutions.

Should students not purchase the 2010 version and stick to 2007 or is this something that affects only faculty? I planned on purchasing Microsoft Office within the next week and wanted to make sure I got the right one.

Microsoft Office 2010 can save files into the 2007 version after using the 2010 features. I did it all the time for high school, since my laptop used 2010 but my school wasn’t compatible.

Before you buy the software, check with the SupeStore to see what their student prices are. It’s usually a lot cheaper to buy a student license through a school.
