I was admitted into SU early decision but I knew that I had to keep my grades up or else they may reconsider my admission. First quarter my math grade was an 84 and it's the middle of fourth quarter now and it's a 67. All of my other grades are okay and I still have time to pull it up, but I'm worried that this decrease in my average is enough to make SU change their mind.

Getting a “D” final grade could cause your admission to be rescinded.

Get it to a C to be safe

i know someone who goes to syracuse who got a 4 for a 4th quarter average in calc. not a 4 as in 4.0, four as in 4/100. he didn’t get rescinded. relax.

go_habs10 I don’t think that person’s experiences should make him less nervous. You never know the status of the\ student who received a 4 may have been. He may have well been a relative of someone who works at Syracuse thus making it hard for the adcoms to rescind his admissions. Or he may have possibly been an athlete that might have potential to make SU athletics shine.

Having said that, I have indeed heard of cases where friends at my school were supposed to be coming with a friend to the school but because they received poor grades their second semester senior year they ended up not coming. I myself received a warning notice from the school of possible rescindment because I received a C- in AP Statistics. Fortunately, I explained to them the situation and still was able to attend. Not trying to make the OP nervous but if it was a legit reason for receiving the D then you should explain that to admissions if they do happen to send you a notice of possible rescindment.

I’m actually in a similar situation… I had an 84 first quarter, second quarter I ended up getting a C which brought my semester grade to a C and then last quarter I got another C and right now i’m at risk of getting another C, so my average is basically going to be a C…I’ve tried to bring it up, but I haven’t been able to… So I’m pretty much really nervous and if they did send me an at risk of rescinding notice I wouldn’t know what to write because nothing drastic happened in my life that would excuse my physics grade to drop…

did you call syracruse to find out?

hey im also in a similar situation, all of my grades are pretty good and in physics the last three quarters i have gotten an 82, 71, 72, respectively. Theres a good chance ill get around a 60 this quarter but my final grade will be around a 70 do you think i will get rescinded
