Will taking a W hurt my chances to get into UCs?

I’m a student at Community College, and I’m looking to transfer to a UC. So I had a 3.75 gpa, but unfortunately i ended up getting a C in Calc 1A and my gpa dropped to a 3.55. Now I’m in Calc 1B, and I don’t like the teacher, and would actually prefer to take calc 1B with my calc 1A teacher, who is teaching it during the approaching fall quarter. But in order to take Calc 1B with my previous teacher next quarter, I’ll have to take a W in my current Calc 1B class. It would be my first and only W. I have read that having one W is not a big deal to universities, but would universities (Like UCB, UCD, and other UCs) frown upon having a W in Calc 1B, after getting a C in Calc 1A? I would be taking Calc during the fall, but that’s when I apply to universities. I’m worried that seeing a C and then a W would really hurt my chances.

Also, if I do take a W in Calc 1B, my gpa when I apply should be 3.57 or 3.58. I know that is probably not good enough for Berkeley, but my chances with other UCs should be ok, right? And I’m also thinking of applying to SJSU and SCU. My major is Business/Finance.

Thanks for any tips or advice!

I have a W from dropping my first Calculus class because the professor was horrible and I knew I would not pass. I ended up taking it again in the Summer, a 7 week class, and got a B. To me, I would think a school would see that and realize that something happened to where you had to drop the class. Everyone is human and no one is perfect. I wouldn’t even worry about it.
