Will Taking An AP Make A Difference?

Hi guys. I'm a senior and this is my schedule for next year:
AP Calculus
AP Physics
AP Extended Physics
AP Microeconomics
Honors World Literature
Honors Horticulture
Honors Italian

I am willing to switch Italian for AP Government if its worth it.
AP Gov is a easy class but its very time consuming [lots of BS work].

Since my school just changed our grading scale for 95 [A] to 90 [A] I know I could get an A. I've never received less than 90% in any given class in high school.

Will it make a difference?

I want to have more of a life, get a job possibly, do more stuff for me before college like loose weight. But if it could make a difference, I'm willing to sacrifice some of it.

This could add 1-2 hours of work daily. Its not like AP Calculus and AP Physics where although they are hard, have little homework.

College?

Rank

GPA

Life? LOL

get a second opinion, but i think a third/fourth year of italian is better than ap gov

even though ap gov (US) was my favorite class in HS

It would be Italian I. A nice little blowoff class.(:

it may look nice then…

): Wahh I guess if my counselor will let me this late I will.):

if your guidance counselor doesn’t let a top student take a more rigorous schedule (if there’s still room in the class) to help you in the admission process, i will personally write him/her a nasty email

LOL! Aw thanks! Its not up to them. Its up to the teacher. If I was trying to get into Italian from AP Gov that would be easier.

two usernames?

Yeahh What a fail!

^lol that was funny.

Oh and take Italian over Gov. Unless you plan on going into politics.

guess we need a tiebreaker…

Ditto @Shaggy007.

Take Italian. Seems like an interesting class. :)

Tons of kids take AP Gov - not interesting or unique. Italian? That is a lot more interesting and, as an interviewer, I’d be curious about why you chose a relatively unusual language and what you plan to do with it. Hopefully, your answer includes some interest in the art, history, culture, politics or whatever of Italy…bonus points if you have studied there. See the old movie, Breaking Away…

yeah but chances are, since op is taking it because it’s an easy class for senior year, that it’s not going to be an essay topic for him/her

tons of kids take italian too

at least at my school, first year languages are ridiculously easy

not trying to knock on italian…because i am italian and i think it’s a beautiful culture and language, but wouldn’t AP Gov (however low on the AP totem poll that it may be) look better than a blowoff class?

depending on the number of language courses you’ve already taken, you may want to take Italian IF you have only taken 2 language courses (in the same language). Almost everyone applying to college has taken the often required 2 language classes, but 3 or more is recommended by many colleges. So I might recommend Honors Italian…

Or maybe I’m just a jealous Italian-American with only the option of French or Spanish and minimal knowledge of the language for that reason :D

Is government a graduation requirement in your state? In ours, you can’t graduate without it.

Well I have an interest in the country, but mostly, because I’d like to have one easy class senior year. Seeing as I took Spanish 1 and 2 then Italian 1. It might be weird. My friend did the same and got into Yale. But she had 5 APs.

US History is with a Constitution test requirement.
