Will the college penalize you for not sending ALL your SAT/SAT 2 scores?

My counselor told me that I don't NEED to send all my SAT/SAT 2 scores to the UCs (for instance), since they only look at the HIGHEST one-setting SAT score. However, the UCs have a policy of sending ALL scores. I've taken the SAT around 4 times, and my 4th time taking the SAT was the highest, while the first time I took the SAT was my lowest. Should I just send my best SAT and SAT 2 scores to the UCs, since they don't even need my lowest SAT/SAT 2 scores...?

Also, if you don't send all your SAT/SAT 2 scores, will the college contact you to make you send all of your scores?

Thanks!

You are in the world of the great unknown. What happens if you disobey the college’s rule to send all scores? None, absolutely none, have ever said what they will actually do to a student if the college learns the student did not send all scores. They would have the right to reject you or withdraw your admission for failure to comply with their application rules but whether any college will actually do anything at all is currently unknown and to date there has been no reported case of a college’s doing anything to a student who disobeyed the rule (which went into effect before last year’s class applied for college). Moreover, none have followed up on an application specifically asking the student whether he sent all scores. Personally, I would just send them all so you will never have to worry whether the college will become vindictive some day and treat you like a criminal.

Haha, all right. Thanks for the information. I’ll be sending all my scores. Thanks!
