I took the ACT in June and received a composite score of 33. At first I was thrilled, and then started thinking it might have just been a really easy test (in comparison to others) which could bring the value of a 33 down significantly. Does anyone have thoughts on this??

does it matter? How would it bring down the “value”…I don’t get it

If it was an easy test, that means it had a harsh curve (one question wrong could lead to a 34 in some sections). But I don’t think it was an easy test. I missed one or two in English and one or two in Math and got a 35 for both.

I think this is how it goes…if a test was easier, then there would be more 33s, 34s, 35s etc. This would cause a seemingly impressive score from that particular test date to appear less remarkable. Maybe this is completely wrong, and a 33 is a 33 no matter what. I don’t really know.

Thats why they use curves. So either way it doesn’t matter.

Why can’t you just be happy.

Yes, you’re completely wrong. A 33 is a 33 no matter what. Colleges don’t care what date you took the test on.

I think the June ACT had a very hard curve, or I just made a bunch of dumb mistakes. 30 Math? I didn’t think I possibly missed more than 5 questions. 33 English and I think I missed 2.
