Will the market down 770 points, affect on expensive private university applications?

I am wondering, as a parent, how many other parents are thinking now about the risk of being on the hook for $200K, now that the market crashed 770 points, and whether to apply to expensive private universities like ND?

If you have a 529 plan, hopefully you have been advised well before now to get it out of stock investments. If it means that your student will incur substantial loan debt after graduation, I would weigh the options very carefully. Of course, it does not hurt to apply; you never know what type of financial package you might be eligible for. But, I would sure make the student understand the risk of affordability before submitting that app, esp if it means huge loan debt.
