Will the receipt of scholarships in May affect the FA package (this yr , next yr)??

What is UIUC 's policy concerning any scholarships that are received by the student AFTER FA had already been applied for and set by UIUC? Does the money get addressed in the current or the next year's FA (this would be for an incoming freshman)?

What , if any , are the obligations to disclose the scholarships to the school so received ?

I think at least one of them goes directly to the school - maybe all three of them do.

We are a EFC=zero family;dislocated worker, with 35 pct loans comprising the FA pkg. Ideally, it wd be nice to use the scholarships to reduce the loan part of the aid instead of UIUC seeing the extra money and then reducing the grants they had extended, thus keeping us in the hole still with loans.

Go here to start your research [University of Illinois Financial Aid: Private Outside Scholarships](http://www.osfa.uiuc.edu/aid/scholarships/private.html) You are requiired to inform the financial aid department of any outside scholarships, and they can reduce financial aid but they will apply first to reduce any “loan” aid given. Need based inancial aid for sophomore year is determined by finacial information you will need to submit later like you did for freshman year (in other words, it is determined annually based on financial data that exists at the time.
