Will the school forms being a week late affect my application?

I've applied to a couple of schools already, all of them before the deadline for each of them (thank god) and everything on my part was submitted. However, I have a problem

I assigned my counselor a couple months ago, had a discussion with him before the holidays about sending the school forms in (along with the transcripts which was given to him). However for some reason which I don't know yet, he hasn't completed them before the deadline. Heck, they still aren't done. tomorrow I start school again and I hope I'll get him to finish them by that week.

Here's my question, if I sent everything on my part on time (my two teachers recommendations were also on time) but my counselor hasn't done the forms yet (and the transcript). Will it negatively impact my application? I think my counselor has a lot of things to do, or maybe something is wrong with the server he works on, I don't know yet.

I did e-mail one of my universities explaining my situation, the reply is "send you forms next week when you return to school". Now I don't know what to make of it, it probably short because the admission officers are getting tons of document at the moment, or it could be a scorn answer like "I can't believe this kid. Well, he's not getting in for sure", then again it could be a "it's ok, we understand that your counselor may be busy at the moment. We won't punish your application because of it". It's anyone's guess, really.

So, once again, do you think it will negatively affect my application? It would absolutely crush me if it did. Thanks

BTW, the transcript(s) can be sent to the school by the common app thing right? the counselor must submit it along with the forms? yes?

No, it won’t negatively affect your application. The first 2-3 weeks after applications are due colleges spend time organizing student files to make sure they have all the pieces going into the review process.
