Hello everyone.
I was recently accepted into the engineering school at UMD. In addition, I was accepted into the scholars program, received a $5000 per year presidential scholarship, and a $7000 per year university grant. I have been slacking a little bit in my final semester of senior year, and most of my A-/B+ have dropped to the B+/B/B- range. I don't think this is bad enough to deserve any repercussions, but confirmation would be great. What I'm really worried about, however, is my grade in my art class. I had a B-/C+ for my first two quarters, but now it looks like i might receive a D in art class this quarter. Is a D in art bad enough to warrant a rescinded offer or scholarship or grant? Even though it has nothing to do with my intended major (chemical engineering)?

bump…

A D or an F can warrant being rescinded (or losing your scholarships if they are based on merit). The only way to know would be to contact the college to see what they say. You might instead be placed on academic probation for your first semester. See if you can get that grade up NOW.
