Will there be any decisions today?

Still waiting…friend was accepted to gateway yesterday.

Mike --

I did not mean to insult your daughter’s GPA. I just meant that I was surprised that she was that low considering it. I guess sometimes things just don’t pan out the way you expect. I know that college admissions processes are not flawless, and sometimes it seems like a less-qualified candidate gets in over you. But I guess A&M considers many things. The other candidates could have had more ECs or wanted to join the Corps (I have heard checking “I am interested in joining the Corps” looks very favorably), or their essays sounded better to the admissions person. Realize that it is a real person reviewing the applications, not a computer, so it’s not guaranteed that it will be 100% fair.

TAMU Galveston is another options she could do, but I know you said you have a lease signed in College Station and everything so Blinn really seems like the best option. It almost seems like Blinn is a better option for anyone rather than going to a satellite campus frankly because you will be able to transfer for a lot cheaper, plus you can still enjoy the A&M campus and experience as well.

Congrats to everyone who received Blinn Team or admission as well. I had no idea A&M’s admissions process was as competitive as this. I guess when it comes down to the wire like this you just have to take the best that you can get.

Good luck to everyone next year. You all seem like incredibly qualified candidates and I am sure you all will do just fine.

SRDavis- OSU has a very good BioChem program, and they offer scholarships based on ACT/SAT scores on a sliding scale. They are well funded and there is a lot of scholarships available. We have several friends there and the love it, and a lot more friends going next year as well. I personally think Stillwater is very simular to College Station in atmosphere as well.

Well at least you guys have notice with A&M. I’m still sitting on step three and they told me that they were getting letters out gurantee by frist week of march. although…i have a feeling considering my score that i wont get in…I just at least want to know my options

rushedmom - Thanks for the info on OSU! They will hold meetings in Houston next week and we will attend one of those and wait to see what scholarship money they may offer. It may end up being as cost effective as a state school making it more attractive in the long run than Baylor. Everyone we have spoken with says the campus is beautiful glad you knew about the Biochem program being good. We are pretty excited again  Thanks!

Izzie- We are also still waiting. Son was Cap’ed at Ut and we visited UTSA on Monday to check out options, but not sure that is the place for him. My D is a senior at A&M and loves it there. This waiting game is hard, but it won’t be forever. Keep your chin up and we’ll all have answers soon. Then we can move on to the next adventure!

Well, at least it looks like I’m in company when it comes to this waiting game. Let’s see, txaggie87, izziedodat, and AggieMom2013, any others still waiting? I guess they are done for Spring Break? (A&M is officially off Thur/Fri) From what I’ve seen the past few days though, the system appears to be updated between 10:30pm and 6:30am. Maybe something later tonight?

We are waiting to hear about my son’s status. I called today to see if we are still on the same timeline as the email we received a few days ago stating by the end of this week. They said we are still on that timeline. They are updating about 2000 per day. I mentioned that it was spring break and was wondering if they were working all week. I was told they were there all week. I was also told updates occur at night for what it is worth.

FYI - a&m does have biochemistry. my roomie majored in it when i was there and my other daughter was accepted into it as a transfer.

Will this be the day? AIS is down at the moment, presumably for nightly updates and/or maintenance. Guess we will check again in the morning.

NOTHING has changed on the ais website for me. Should I just sign up for U of H’s new student confrence because my chances to get into tamu seem slim to none now =(

Last Saturday evening, several people in this forum noted that majors had changed and then Sunday and Monday people moved to Step 5, with their decisions visible in AIS.

Nothing has changed for me as well. Has anyone received a decision that is not an auto admit from out of state?

im still on step 3…i have pretty much given up at this point…settling on texas state or eastern michigan…

I understand Izzie. We are in the same boat here, but my advice for whatever it’s worth - don’t just settle – this is one of the most important decisions you’ll make, and what’s a couple of weeks when it affects the next four years of your life?

I plan on calling the admissions office Monday to check on our status. Take care!

Yeah i understand, and thanks. But everything happens for a reason, and for now i need to look for back ups just in case

Izzie…Never give up…NEVER!! Aggiemom is absolutely right  I’m sure you’ll hear something soon. I called last Monday and was Stiff Armed with the “they’ll be out in two weeks” click! I understand how many other calls they receive like mine and how challenging it must be to work at getting out all the decisions. Hang in there, it’s worth it!!

i am not sure calling is helpful.

here is my advice. most likely the best result you wil get at this point is blinn team.

housing is already full. so if you want to be in college station, then go find an apartment and plan on going to blinn (either on team or not). then the stress of it all is over.

Has anyone heard anything today??

Looks like some progress. The click to change major link is now gone, majors remained.
