I'm a senior and I'm applying to lehigh. It's one of my top choices especially if I get into the IBE program. I'm coming to visit around the 7th or 8th of january since thats the only time I can make it since I live in California.
I wanted to wait to come until students were officially back at school on the 14th, but I'm also dual enrolled in a calc 3 class which starts the 14th of january so I have to be back for that.
So yeah I was just wondering if there would be any students there or if I should maybe wait until thursday or friday of that week to go. thanks!

Hey Lehighhopeful,

The majority of Lehigh students will return to campus for the 2013 spring semester Monday, January 14, 2013 when classes resume. I know that many social fraternities on-campus begin their rushing programs a little earlier during the first and second weeks of 2013 before most other students return. And there will be a large number of international students and students who live off-campus who will probably have been there since the start of Winter Break.

So basically, you won’t see Lehigh in full action if you visit on Jan 7 or 8, but you should still be able to fully explore the campus.

It’s ultimately up to you if you can miss your classes for a visit. Let me just say that showing interest and visiting will definitely impress admissions, and you shouldn’t miss out on it. I would suggest emailing admission with your dilemma. They may be able to better accomodate your needs in terms of visiting and help you figure out the best date.

Best,

I think sorority rush starts January 7th, so there should be a lot of the current freshmen women around campus.

I would wait until the majority of students return to campus so you can get the true feel for the school. You have what admissions is looking for in the way of “Geographic Diversity.” You should definately inform the school when you will be on campus and request a personal interview during that time with the Dean of Admissions. Lehigh loves students from the West Coast!

That was my original plan to wait, but I’m dual enrolled in a college class and they start the 14th so unfortunately I have to be there, so I have to attend lehigh the week before. Ive already contacted my admissions counselor and I have an interview with the IBE director. I’m so excited; I cant wait to visit!

If you want a feel for the “Hill” take a peek at the YouTube video “Lehigh LipDub 2010” before you arrive. My 2 kids participated in the video and if you don’t see yourself being at Lehigh after you watch it a few times it might not be for you. Enjoy!
