Will These Stats be Sufficient for UCI Engineering? Please Respond!

HI! I’m from California, and I’m current applying to the UC system for 2015 admissions as I’m sure many of you are as well. I’m just wondering if any of you think these stats will be sufficient for UCI Engineering in particular. I realize there is no real way to predict admittance, but feedback would be appreciated!

GPA: 4.22
SAT: 1790
ACT: 29
SAT Math II: 730
Taken AP’s: Stats, lang/comp, european history,
Taken honors: Math Analysis, Spanish 3, physics
Currently taking: Honors Econ, AP literature, AP Government, AP Environmental Science, AP Spanish Language, AP Calculus BC

I would write all my activities and such. I’m involved in several volunteering, cultural, and technical associations. I average probably 6-11 hours of community service a week. I’m in the top 7% of my class. If there’s any such info needed, just reply and I’ll reply back!

Envionmental Engineering major at UCI, alternate is Mathematics B.S.

Unweight your GPA and what is it?

My unweighted is 3.84

What is your UC GPA?

My UC GPA is 3.85

UCI: High Match/Low Reach
UC GPA below the average of 4.04 (UCI loves 4.0+ GPA’s) plus test scores could be higher. For highly competitive majors, you want to be at or above the average. Outstanding essays could help.

Good Luck.

@gumbymom i think he miscalculated his UC GPA

@Gumbymom I did in fact miscalculate my UC GPA; it is actually 4.12

UCI: High Match
If you can get the ACT up to 30+, you have a solid chance. Also I would not submit your SAT.

@Gumbymom I thought it was necessary to report all scores and tests taken, no?

You can submit all your ACT sittings or all SAT sittings. There is no where on the UC application site stating you have to submit both tests.

I think UCI is a low reach, because both your GPA and test scores are low.
