Will they notice?

Im a freshman in college and I wanted know, will an adcom pay attention to an upward trend in HS grades, and would it matter?

My HS grades were like this:

Fres: ~2.5
Soph:~2.5
Junior:~3.5
Senior:~3.8

And considerring I should have a 4.0 through 36 credits, how detrimental would those fresh and soph years be to my app?

Thanks for all advice.

The more selective colleges will pay attention to the upward trend you had in HS. And, it does matter, but less so after you have a year of college under your belt (assuming the 4.0 and 36 credits).

Colleges love it when folks pull themsevles up by their bootstraps, darling op. Are you doing any neat-o EC's and the like to help things along?

I've got good job experience and I'm still working on some internships, and I also do some political stuff. But its still a work in progress

Dude, firebird74t, you seem to be rocking things hard. Good luck. Remember to do a nice write up of all of this when you transfer and all.

peaceout

Excellent trend and I certainly think colleges will take note. You should find a way to mention it under "additional information" on your apps if it doesn't happen to come up in your essays.
