I am a HS Senior and I was accepted to a University for the Fall. They have a SSAR (Self-reported Student Academic Record) for their application where you input your grades throughout high school. The SSAR has a minimum amount of courses to be entered for each subject area (English, Math, Science, Language). My dilemma is that I entered all my grades(Mostly A’s and B’s) in each category to complete the report, however I did not include a D I received in AP Human Geography in my Sophomore year because I had completed that category,Social Science. I know when I send my final transcripts they will see it and I am worried out of my mind. I got the D because I went through family crisis and it made it difficult for me to put my full effort into the class. My unweighted GPA and weighted GPA is a 3.7 and 4.9, respectively. SAT is 1700. I am doing well my Senior year except that I have a C in AP Calculus. I know I should have included it and now i scared! Please help!
If you mention that you had a family crisis, I’d contact the admissions office to discuss it and apologize for it rather than to simply have it appear on your transcript. I guess that you could say you got confused and didn’t realize it was supposed to be on it since you already fulfilled the requirement, but that’s kinda shady. Talk to your guidance counselor about it.
A better idea may be to call the college anonymously and ask an admissions rep what they think would happen to a student in the same situation as you. Make sure to leave everything ambiguous enough so they don’t know it’s you and hope for the best! You’re gonna be alright!
Didn’t they get a transcript when you applied? If so, they already know and there’s no need to tell them.
