I'm taking the SATs in October, and I was wondering if they're even going to be sent to my schools in time using that 4 college choice option. I'm worried about this because I will be sending out the application by late october//early november. If I don't choose 4 colleges, how will I get the scores sent to my schools?

Is it important to have picked those 4 colleges? I just left those spaces blank to send them later, because I didn't want to send bad scores (should anything happen). I mean... I can always send them later right?

(sorry I couldn't answer your question Easton)

yea man no problem, but to answer your question, YES, i've been leaving them blank because i don't want my lower scores to be sent the colleges lol....yes you can send them later, I am just worried about timing sake

I'm assuming you're a senior. I'd definitely take advantage of those four free ones, especially if you're applying early or rolling admissions. Most (probably all, just haven't done that that much research to be sure) schools say they will take the Oct. test for ED if you send it directly to them. If you're just going RD, then timing's not an issue at all.

In addition, you can't withold any SAT scores. When you send one report, all your different sittings go at once. So (again, assuming you're a senior) since it costs something to send them after the fact, and schools are going to see everything anyway, I'd certainly do it.

Furthermore, if you wait until you see your scores, you're looking at two months after the test dates before colleges see your scores. To send scores to schools is almost $10 per school. I wish I had choosen colleges when I signed up!

i have another question relating to this -

i just updated all my score recepients so now 8 schools will be receiving my oct SAT I score report, and then the same 8 will be receiving my dec SAT II score report.

i'm applying early action to 4 of these schools, which means those deadlines are nov 1. i think my oct scores will get there in time, but i know my december sat II will not, but its okay because if i get deferred they will have them in time for me to be reconsidered in the regular decision pool.

so here's my questions:
1) will my october SAT I score report get to my early action schools on time? (by the nov 1 deadline)
2) how do i know when the colleges have received my scores?

thanks if you have any answers!

alright thanks for the reply but if i take advantage of those 4 colleges of choice that I sent my scores to, will all of my scores be sent from previous tests + sat iis that i took in June? I'm also going just for regular deadline as opposed to ED, so do I have to send them later or what?

yes every time you send a score report through collegeboard, it includes the score of every sat I and sat II you have taken. you can even see a preview of what the colleges will see when you are choosing which colleges you're sending it to.. and it includes every score of every time youve taken any SATs
