So Freshman year, I took Latin I, and Sophomore year, I took Latin II. Then, Junior year, I couldn't take it because I had to choose between Latin III and AP Calc... obviously I chose the calc. So, if I apply to top notch schools/Ivies, will it severly hurt my chances to have only two years of language?

Thanks.

Can you self-study Latin and/or take it next year ?

Actually yes, I’m pretty sure colleges require 3 years and recommend 4 (and when they say recommend, you really need to)

Most good colleges want more than 2 years. Can you take it senior year?

Most colleges only require 2, take one senior year and you will have 3, 3 is enough at every college that I know of. You do not “need” 4 years of language.

I don’t think Latin would even count towards your language requirement. Colleges want you to take modern languages and have not cared in decades about classical languages which are no longer spoken.

Top colleges don’t require any years of language, but having them is beneficial.
