Will this get me rescinded if....

So after failing an entire first semester course in senior year, I was sure the game was over, especially at my dream school which was already a massive reach.

My dream school called my guidance counselor and inquired on the failure. My guidance counselor mentioned how the teacher was new to teaching, 20/30 kids failed, etc. Still, it seemed hopeless. If it wasn't for that F, my grades were straight A's, and the highest they've ever been in my life.

Long story short, to my disbelief, I got accepted!

But now I'm worrying a bit again. I started off the 3rd quarter for the first time getting 80s and up on the everyday quizzes. However, I got a 55 on our first test, I couldn't believe it.

What happens if I fail for the year? O_____O. I'm working my ass off, and all I need to do is average a 73, so it's far from impossible. But the college took a chance on me regardless of the F, will they suddenly rescind it if I fail it again in the second semester even if my other grades remain the same or increase?

I do not want the honor of probably being the highest scoring kid to ever land in summer school, either. xD

..No but seriously, I'm freaking out <_<

Get tutoring. Yes, you could be rescinded.

20/30 kids failed, and your school still let the teacher keep on going? that’s what astounds me here.

^ Yea, last years class didn’t do so great either. And the AP test results were borderline bad as well. This year many more people are questioning though, as it’s not even just my econ class that’s doing terrible, but the teacher’s government class is just as bad. Something’s not right, especially when the class I’m in, these 30 kids are the one’s who are topped ranked in the school…

And I know I can be rescinded, but is that likely in that case?

Only worry about yourself. You need to do something that will show your college that the failing grade was a fluke and that you have bounced back up to your previous top grades.

If you’re failing economics, I suggest you buckle down, study 3+'s hours a night, and brute-force your way through it. This is your future, dude - how could you stand it if you got rescinded from your dream school because you didn’t break your back in one class for one semester? As for your likelihood of getting rescinded… it depends on which school you’re talking about, but if the school is as elite as your original post implies, an F WILL ALMOST CERTAINLY RESCIND YOU. In fact, a D may do the trick as well. I would try to get a C or better for the year, if at all possible. I realize this is a “unique” situation because your teacher is so bad, but colleges, especially elite ones, may be less accommodating than you would think.
