Will this help me get in?

I am hoping to go to UGA. And for anyone who doesn't know, UGA has decided to become very picky and raise the standards in the past years. I have a 3.63 right now, however by the time my application is reviewed (after 1st semester Sr. year) I should have around a 3.73. My first SAT was pretty low, but I will be taking the SAT and ACT a couple more times each later on. I also do sports, clubs, part-time job, and AP/IB courses (8 total).

Now to my question. Basically I'm wondering if mentioning that I plan to do Army ROTC, and that I got an Army ROTC scholarship to UGA, will look really good, and help me get into UGA?

And just based on my stats, do you think I have a good chance at UGA assuming I get my GPA and SAT up?

Thank you

I wouldn’t worry too much. I know several people with less-than-stellar GPAs and SATs who have gotten into UGA because of the rigor of their courseload.

If you’re still worried, contact the ROTC head at UGA and express your interest.

Yeah, the average for UGA was like 3-7 AP/IB classes throughout high school. And I will have taken 8. So I think I’ll be good, but I’m still worried. Mainly because my high school offers a lot more AP/IB classes, so I’m hoping UGA won’t expect me to have taken a lot more.

And I’m gonna interview with the ROTC Dept. for my scholarship, and hopefully they will put in some sort of admissions endorsement for me. I just don’t know how to ask for one without sounding rude.
