I'm an OOS Junior interested in UVA and looking for anything that will help me get in. My dad attended UVA law school and my grandfather taught at the law school. Assuming I have the grades, tests scores, etc, do either of these help me out or count as a legacy? Please, please say they do.

yes, your father going to UVA makes you a legacy, which puts you in the in-state pool of applicants, which helps tremendously...being an IS candidate doesnt necessarily mean you can have lower numbers (although they're more likely to accept a 3.6IS rather than a 3.6OOS), but you're vying for one of ~66% of the spots available, instead of ~33%

Do two cousins count toward legacy?? I doubt it.

no, only parents/step parents

Does it count as a legacy if it was for law school, not undergrad?

yes...undergrad or grad school alumini's children count as legacy

yay thank you! sweet relief!
