will this hold me back from transfering to berkeley?

I'm in my final semester at a California cc, I have a 3.9 gpa, and I have completed all of the college of letters and science breadth requirements, including the 7 course breadth. I wrote what I felt was a good application essay, which I had three different people edit. Overall I feel like I had a strong application, as I have lots of interesting work experience after high school, and a lot of experience related to my major outside of school.

Here's the problem:

Of my 60.5 units, only 52.5 are UC transferable. The reason being, I had initially planned on transfering to SF State, but decided on Berkeley last semester.

The college of L & S states they require 60 UC transferable units. Are they strict about this? Given a strong application and all breadths filled, will they bend the rules, or will I have to stay another semester at community college?

Call the office of admissions. They can help you out more than anyone here.

Yeah, really...
this can be answered really easily if you call the admissions office.

People here are some high school students, parents, and some college students.

That's it.

I don't think anybody would be able to answer that.

nah, don't worry. they make it sound all strict and stuff, but in reality they don't give a bull's arse about it. i've seen people here who didn't complete their ochem series, even though it is stated as the MINIMUM requirement for admission to L&S as MCB. some haven't finished their IGETC, etc etc... i took 83 units altogether, and they only transferred 58 units i think. i have no idea how this happened
