I am taking a class at a local University. The class is much more difficult than any other class I have taken. There is a chance that I may not get an A and end up with a B. I am not entirely sure though. Will my chances at top Universities be greatly impacted? The thing I am worried about is the fact that I have a 3.84 GPA. The GPA is a major upward trend. I have made straight As in a very rigorous course load since second semester of 10th grade. Will a B in a University class discredit my upward trend? Thanks.

ITs just a B. Take it easy. They’ll consider the rigor of the course.

I am just worried that it will discredit my upward trend.

No, it will not be a problem or cast doubt upon your upward trend. Colleges understand that taking a course at a local university is more challenging than taking a class at your high school. I think it will be viewed positively because you have gone out of your way to challenge yourself. Stop worrying.

I really hope so.
