I am a junior and I have a 3.8-3.9 GPA (UW) and a 4.40 (W)

I have stellar ECs, I mean STELLAR ECs! I have received national recognition because of my ECs.

I am a great writer so my essay should be good and my teacher/ counselor recommendations should be amazing!

I take all honors classes and one AP. Will take hurt my chances for getting into these schools?

I will take two-three more APs next year, but will it make a difference?

As for my SATs I will study hard and aim for a 2000+

Yale is going to be very very hard. I think you have an excellent chance at the others.

^I think a 2200 on the SAT will seal the deal for USC

OP: Basically your post says, “I have a good GPA, good ECs, good essays, good recs, and probably will have a good SAT score. Chance me?” There’s not much to go off of, especially since you didn’t elaborate on your ECs and you don’t have an SAT score yet. The most anyone will be able to tell you is “good chances” at those schools, though Yale will be harder than the others on your list.

But will my lack of APs hurt me?

It depends, how many APs does your school offer? If it offers a ton and you took few, it will look bad (not the end of the world). It certainly looks better if you took all that were offered.

forgive me for being a bit of a skeptic buuuut:

when you say national recognition… do you mean in something like National scholar? or some sport etc?

How many APs does your school offer, Gasol?

My school offers about 15 APs but 13 of them I can’t take because I am a junior or because I didn’t take Algebra II.

So pretty much I could have only taken three APs this year.

Once I complete Algebra II after I finish my junior year, I will be allowed to take the rest of the APs when I’m a senior
