Will this hurt my chances?

If I start orchestra in 10th grade vs. in 9th grade, would it hurt my chances to get into a good school, like UCLA or UCDavis? I am not planning to major in music, I want to be a doctor. I have some prior experience in orchestra, I started in 6th grade, but I did not take it as a freshman because I wanted to try Dance, but am thinking of doing orchestra instead in 10th grade. So would UCLA or Davis frown upon the fact that I did 3 years of orchestra vs. 4? Thank you.

1 less year of Orchestra will have little impact. What is more important is to engage in activities you enjoy.

Thank you. I actually do enjoy orchestra very much and am glad to hear that one less year will not be frowned upon.

Yeah, it won’t hurt you. Don’t worry.

Thank you! I have also found out that alongside the dance class I will take in 9th grade, there is a dance club that I can also join for all 4 years of high school, and I can probably take orchestra 10/11/12 with that. I believe this could add to my list of extracurriculars, especially in the arts.
