Hi,
I'm a junior student who really wants to go to Columbia college and I probably will be applying ED for that college in my senior year. However, my mother really wants me to apply to Harvard EA, too. I don't really mind doing that, since I know I'll probably not get in and will definetely attend Columbia if I'm accepted, anyway.
But I'm just scared that if Columbia finds out that I'm also applying to Harvard while I'm in their ED pool, they'll not be amused and reject me.
Do you think that might happen? Will Columbia hold that against me?

Columbia should be blind as to where -- or if -- you have sent other applications. If you do get accepted at Columbia ED, though, you have to rescind your Harvard application.

What a minute, I thought you couldn't apply to Harvard SCEA and anywhere else ED? I would say that if you don't want to go to Harvard, don't apply SCEA and save the ED for somewhere you really want to go (i.e. Columbia).

Hehehe well if I'm not even allowed to apply to those colleges in that combination, I guess my problem will be solved:D

apply Columbia..

Apply where YOU want to go.

you cant apply to Columbia ED and Harvard SCEA- problem solved, apply to Columbia because thats where you want to go.

Ok, thanks guys :)

And, the Ivies do share who gets in ED and SCEA...so even if you got in, each would yank your acceptances.

Harvard is no longer doing EA starting next year..

Haha that's right. You can't do Harvard SCEA no matter what. Go Columbia.
