Will this hurt my chances

Ok ive gotten all A's throughout high school and im ranked 5....

However this snr semester these will be my grades

AP Lit B+
AP Calc AB/BC B+
AP Environ A
AP GOv A
Lab aid A
Advanced Athletics A

AM i too be worried???

up to this point GPA is 4.595 with a 2060

ummmmm...yeah i'm surprised you even have to ask. you're completely fine. now go sit down and take a chill pill. everything's gonna be ok. ok? ok.

This isn't Harvard, it's USC.

the average median is 3.8 unweighted i believe. you're completely fine.

Thanks, just asking cuz my parents are super strict.........

don't stress so much, enjoy life, and give your parents a backhand if they scold you for one B in your 4 years of hs

the same thing happened to me, and i got a full scholarship. :) you should be fine.

Do senior grades play a big role in deciding which students get scholarships?

I don't think so, no. Maybe if you are super super borderline and they can't decide which student to give the scholarship to.

So r they just asking for them just to make sure students are still on the right path??? Is there any wieght to it?

if someone gets all As in ap classes senior year, is there a chance they might reconsider an applicant for a scholarship if they were slightly below what they wanted?

blue, seeing that scholarship invitations are usually sent out before the time MDY reports come flowing in, I doubt it. Once these invitations get sent out, I highly doubt there are any more invitations unless there is some sort of error on USC's part. (Misfiling an application or something)

Hmm, this directly contradicts my earlier statement. Ignore what I said before then. :)

If they specifically request a MidYear report, then they probably have a good reason. Possible reasons include:
-Borderline admit
-They want to confirm that an rising grade trend holds steady and the student doesn't regress
-The adcoms are inclined to admit a student but aren't sufficiently confident in a students academic achievement to make a final decision. They want another semester's worth of grades to reinforce their decision and minimize any doubts.

Anyway, I think you get the point here. Most people don't have too much too worry about. Sophomore and Junior year still provide the bulk of the evaluation criteria. If you had a mediocre Sophomore and Junior year, good senior year grades will not suddenly save you.

it's just that i'm applying to viterbi and i got an A in physics and calculus I but my SAT math scores weren't the strongest.
