Will this hurt my transfer chances greatly?

Hi, I'm a college freshman and was recently taking 15 credits for my first semester. I was taking Chem 111, Bio 180, a history class, and then Calculus I. Since my workload has been so much with 2 labs I decided to drop Calculus and pick up a mini-course to get 12 credits, but now I will have a W on my transcript. How much will this hurt me if i have a 4.0 anyway?

Not much. Lots of people find out that they can’t handle more than 12 credits for their first semester. You have plenty of time to take that Calculus course.

Yeah, I figured one W wouldn’t matter at all my first semester especially since i wasn’t failing the class and it isn’t necessary for me to take.

To which school(s) would you like to apply?

failing the class is irrelevant b/c whether you had an A when you dropped it or a F, it showed up as a W. admissions will never know what grade you had.

It’s not a big deal, especially as a freshman. but, if you want to transfer you don’t really have room to end up with another W. at most, and this depends on the school you transfer to, you can have 1 more W (and that’s if you transfer in as a junior).

What is your intended major?

Biology and probably pre-med or if i did switch it would be business. I was thinking of also taking it next year, not sure.
