Will this hurt?

hey guys, so i've taken the SAT 3 times

1st time : 1460 - M:480, W:510, Cr: 470 - took it in beginning of sophomore year
2nd time : 1950 - M:690, W:680, Cr: 580 - took it in Dec of Junior year
3rd time : 2010 - M: 730, W:700, Cr: 580 - took it in May of Junior year

So, I really want to take it once more. I'm apply to a few top schools and i know I can get higher in each section if i take it again in October (at least break 600 in CR). So..... would it look really bad that I took it 4 times?

Help!

Typically (especially the Ivys), taking it more than three times is discouraged because you will find that the score probably will not change much. And yes, admissions officers have access to every time you have taken the test. However, persevere on!

Did you have them sent to schools?

i think i may have sent my first score (1460) to like 1 or 2 schools… but not my 1950 or my 2010

I have the same problem, my scores are similar to yours and I really need help deciding whether or not to take it a fourth time!

Do SAT scores normally change this much?

Since you now have the option of only sending one of the four scores, I don’t see how taking it again can possibly hurt you. If you feel you can do better, take it again and just send the highest score.

YOu improved from 1460 do 2010 this is hugeeeeeeeeee.
