Will this kill me for Duke? Please help!

Wow, you actually guessed my school and main EC. Impressive!

I do follow the news. And it doesn’t hurt that I’m in NOVA. Best of luck to you!

Good luck to you too :)

any other opinions?

I’m sure it’s no big deal considering everything else you’ve got. You have a great chance.

Chance me back? I’m a Duke ED applicant.

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1582357-chance-me-ill-get-you-back.html

Although Duke’s admissions process is not as holistic as other schools, meaning they’re more number based and all that, as the son of a someone who works in college admissions, I know that 3 B’s will not hurt your chances at all. You seem like an outstanding applicant. Don’t worry about it :)

Duke is a particularly difficult university to get into, and a think a few others above are underestimating this difficulty. AIME qualifier absolutely does not get you in immediately (though if it did, I would be pretty set as a fellow AIME qualifier); over 10,000 qualify each year. About 16,000 in our class have NMSF and a similar number have AP Scholar of some sort. Obviously though, your programming accomplishments are well above average, although it’s hard to tell from your limited information. (I’m more confused by the explanation you gave earlier of your ECs; that’s what happens when you try to limit the amount of personal info you give out!) But I don’t think you should let the 3 Bs worry you too much.

And are you not a senior? When I had 4 Bs, my unweighted GPA was still almost 3.9.

I am indeed a senior. What would you chance me as? (sorry for the limited info…someone has already guessed my school/main EC so I don’t want to say too much for privacy’s sake)

and I agree, AIME is in no way an auto-in.

I think you’re looking solid. There’s honestly no advice I could give you. Good luck and I hope to see you there.
